Shawnie Fraker is the creative heart behind Blue Door Vintage and has spent her career educating students in Frederick County, Maryland as a dedicated public-school teacher. With a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Shepherd University and a Master’s in Leadership from Frostburg State, she brings the same thoughtful care to her vintage brand as she does to her classroom, curating with intention and nurturing with purpose.

Drawing on a lifelong love of collecting, Shawnie fills each seasonal collection about every two months with pieces that feel like they were made to live well-worn lives. Inspired by French, Asian, European Cottage styles, her eye gravitates toward softly tarnished silver, heirloom linens, brass, vintage jewelry, and homewares that carry quiet stories.

Blue Door Vintage isn’t just an online shop, it reflects Shawnie’s hands-on approach. Every item is styled, photographed at home in natural light, and presented with a simplicity that lets texture, form, and patina speak for themselves.

Outside the classroom and the camera lens, Shawnie shares her passion in person at carefully chosen markets: Beaver Creek Antique Market and Dibs Antiques MD. These pop-up settings bring Blue Door Vintage into the real world, allowing her to connect with customers over pieces chosen with care.

Shawnie believes the best style comes from things loved slowly, an heirloom scarf, a silver spoon softened by time, or a brass sconce softly glowing in a corner.
